Did the Police even wear a cap of this style?
Cheers, Ade.
Ade they did wear them....There must be examples out there.
Cheers Murray
Hi Murray, thanks for the pic. I had not seen this type of cap worn by the Police before. Very interesting.
Cheers, Ade.
Same here never seen this before but the photo from the Polizei Div history certainly shows them in wear , as Ade says very interesting !!
How much does Kai Winkler want for it ?

Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.

The crusher has been sold ...he wanted 1450 euros for it.
There's a great pic of Alfred Wunnenberg wearing a crusher in Jost Schneider's "Their Honor Was Loyalty" on page 455.....though the insignia appears to be metal.
Just checked Schneider your right there is the cap !!

Foolishly I sold my copy of the book some years ago....
Not a cheap buy then at E1450. The placement of the eagle also struck me as a bit odd?
Cheers, Ade.
In the few pics i've seen of crushers in wear the eagle has been in the center of the band.

I will be the first to tell you I am NO cap expert. I am actually about to post a cap myself in a few minutes.
But as a police collector, I will add the following points to the conversation and we can go from there.
#1. Wrong insignia. This is the oversees cap insignia, never (even on crushers) have I seen anything but the metal insignia. Look at the example picture again, those guys are ALSO wearing metal insignia on their crusher caps.
#2 Location. Look at where there eagles are on their caps in the picture and look at this one. Wrong.
Police did wear crusher caps, as the picture shows, but this one gives me the creeps.
