A beautiful cap for sure. I particularly like the makers mark.

Your cross town friend has some absolute stunning caps.

Imperial caps are much more fun to collect as well. As the amount of fakes are not large and you can afford them . And the quality is still amazing.

    Cheers, Pat

Here is his latest. A stonemint doeskin Garde du Corps Officer:
That's a real stunner of a cap. Where is your friend finding these caps? Then again, he may wish to keep it to himself!

From my cross-town colleague-- a visor for a Husar Reserve officer from Kassel
    Another outstanding example.

Pat--that is for an Apotheker, or military Pharmacist. The velvet band is Carmine, as is the piping. They are stunners under the right lighting conditions. Unfortunately, most are not the highest quality in construction (and I agree, that one is way overpriced).

There is something odd about this cap's interior. The pristine lining and sweatband and the worn visor.

From my friend. A wartime visor for Chevaglier Regiment 8
Yet another outstanding, and scarce cap. Curious as to where he's finding these caps, especially as Imperial militaria dealers are not large in number. At least that I'm aware of, that is.

Bob, he has had a lot of these for a long time--he is just getting around to photographing them all. He has been collecting since the 1950's.

Thanks, that makes sense. Those caps must have been VERY inexpensive back then.
