this cap is on offer for £295 on centurion militaria. Not an area i have collected before but i do like it and was curious if anyone had any opinions as to its originality

It is an original one. They are very hard to find in minty condition, as they were worn every day, and were regularly taken on/off ones head throughout the day (they could only wear it while on the platform).

The other issue is that most you see for sale are postwar pieces, which are hard to differentiate from the wartime ones.
This one is a pre-war piece. Value in the $400 range.
