Red Reichsbahn Visor Cap

I was curious about the centreband on this cap. Does the fact that it is brown mean it is for rural stations, pre war, post war or is it completely irrelevant? Any info appreciated.

Here is another one--this is a Weimar postman's hat, and the velvet originally was a dark blue. Like the red-top, this one has also faded to brown:

as stated above the all colours fade depends on age and use/misuse you will notice in the centre where badge/cockade is is where it is darkest because that is where less "grubby" hands touch it
