Below is the latest addition to my collection, a felt RAD cap for an enlisted man. It is a simple piece, unlined, with an embossed leather sweatband. The insignia shows it's age with the presence of some chips to the enamel which, in my opinion, convey a certain tragic sense of ruin and waste. I find it a handsome example and thought I would add it to our digital archive here.

When you think about how many of these were made and seen in period photos and film footage and how many you see today, I think these are very under rated caps. A great addition to your collection. Congrats.

    Cheers, Ade.

Dr, a fine addition to your already-advanced collection.

My thanks to you all for your nice comments. A special thanks to Stonemint for his counsel regarding this item, I appreciate his assessment since this is outside my usual collecting scope. I also appreciate W. Saris' Headgear of Hitler's Germany, Vol. 5, a great resource from a series that no collector should be without.

    Kindest Regards,

    CMH
