Hello all,
Have this one here and it is unlike any other I have seen or searched for. Was trying to determine if I should restore it or if this is some kind of hybrid visor or just the wrong eagle on the cap?

It has a police shako eagle on it.
Not a typical police cap eagle as Steve says Shako eagle. timothy
The hat itself is an original Reichsbahn M-35 visor. As stated above, it should not have a Police Shako eagle on it (probably put there by the vet or his kids).
Hat is too damaged to be worth all that much.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
so let's say I wanted to restore it after removing the Police eagle. I found this insignia and wanted to know if placing this and a cockade on the visor would be correct? I found another similar visor with these insignias but the chin cord is different. Would the chinstrap matter or were these rank related and not necessarily branch related? Any ideas?

or would this be better?
It may not be worth a fortune, but I think I would still restore it to original. I would go with the cockade and the winged gear.

There is a thread on Reichbahn caps that 'Stonemint' has made:

As you will see, the cords are pay-grade specific.
I would use a gold political style eagle - much like his
post #18 - that may be large enough to cover
the holes made by the shako eagle.........
Regards,
Steve.
hey, thanks for all of the feedback, guys!
