Article about: Although not really my area of collecting I am always extremely appreciative of the posting of such excellent reference material. The hats themselves are terrific examples in and of themselv

The aim is to learn more of substance about this regalia in contrast to the illiterate stuff that goes on elsewhere. Your cap and your essay add to the store of our knowledge, which otherwise has stopped growing on other websites, save the Axis History one.

Thanks again. There is a good biography in German of the man who was the Transportation minister, the citation of which I shall furnish elsewhere. The German railways are a special love of mine, in fact.

I have a Reichsbahn cap eagle but with it's head looking to the left, was there somewhere changes about that?

Your cap eagle is for "Bahnschutz". Nice one! I love the shape of the wings

What you probably have is an M-36 or M-37 Political eagle on your visor, or an early KM. Technically, the civil state eagle looks to its right, and the eagles of the armed forces look to the left.

I am rusty on my Heraldry, but if I recall right, whent the eagle looks east, it is the more warlike view, but when it looks to the right (west), it is associated more with peace. (However, notice how the party eagles all look to their left.)

Perhaps someone with more info than I on this topic can elaborate.

BTW, do you have a pic of your DRB hat?
