Looks like a nice hat,,,,nice hat emblem too
I believe that is for an electric tram and or bus driver. The arrows at the bottom of the badge indicate this.
Looks like a post war cap to me. With regard to your example, your chincords also appear to be too small for the hat--the large knots should be flush up against the small knots.
Celluloid is the same as 35mm film negatives--it is stiff, and will not become wavy on the edges as far as the badge I dont know.

Don't wish to offend anybody. But...
The Sweat shield is a good one. It is wavy because of body heat.
The company "Carl Bangert" went out of business when the war ended.
The manufactured cap is spot on with the type of material used by Carl Bangert made caps.
I must say Steve I do like the 3 rings of red piping (top, middle, and bottom) as well as a velvet band and the lack of the 2 air-hole grommets on either side but the cord still looks wrong IMO hope this turns out ok for ya Nic.
Eric
Thank you for your comments. Thanks Steve for pointing out the tram / bus connection. I will put in an offer for the cap and see what the seller says.
thanks

Hat itself is a good one. Chincords may have been replaced.
Badge is for Tram. I have never seen a Tram insignia on a DRB hat, but I never say never. You need to look for empty prong holes from a prior eagle. Badge is rare in that condition.

original !
Thank you Stonemint and S.Vestae for your comments. I am looking forward to receiving the cap.
