Schirmmütze for an Officer of Kavallerie Regiment 13 (Luneburg)

Article about: The boxy circumference is very notable, much like HPC's. Anyone learing the craft should study such elements, it takes a tremendous amount of skill to construct a hat like this.

Thanks, guys. The hat has already left "collecion de stonemint" and moved across town to reside in another collection much more advanced than mine, where it now accompanies a tunic from Kav Rgt 13 made in Luneburg. Sic Transit Gloria Mundi.....
I think I know where your cap went, and you gave it a fine home. Pity to part with such a nice piece, though.

F-B, that cross-town collection also now includes this rare beauty--the only original Seiler that we are aware of (and the template for the fakes):

Thanks so much. I have seen pictures of this man's collection. Very impressive indeed. Cavalry things are very pleasing. This cap from Schwedt, a famous Prussian cavalry garrison, is also quite pleasing. The hand stitched band with the Stirndrueckfrei Einlage bespeaks all the things we ooze about.

I recall the Norbert Graetz piles of caps, but this enclosure of yours is a poem. I did buy a collar for the brown shirt from him which was totally authentic, however.

F-B, I will relay your kind words to the owner--he is a true historian when it comes to collecting, and almost everything he owns can be traced to the original owner.

Here is (imho) the best infantry visor on the planet--a no questions asked Erel IR 17 Officers visor, in unissued condition (also from the same collection):

ID:	332135Auch sehr schoen, der Braunschweiger! That is a remarkable cap with the Brunswick Militaereffekten place and the beautiful Lubstein cap. A person of taste and refinement.
Of course, there existed a time in West Germany, when this stuff was cheap and plentiful. See my enclosure here from my early days at this, and this chum of yours started well before I did.
    damit, basta.

My friend across town just picked up this lovely Kav NCO visor by a small-town maker:

Very handsome piece. Paderborn is not a small town. It is a medium town. In any case, your cavalry collector friend has a fine collection and discerning taste. Such a pleasure to see nice things amid all the junk. I have always like cavalry caps, and had several (four or so....) which I sold.....how sad.
    damit, basta.
