    Default Sos walk-in

On Friday afternoon at the SOS, a gentleman came to my tables with this cap he had gotten in Germany in the 1950's when his father was stationed there with the U. S. Airforce. It is the very rare political leader form of DAF political leader established in 1938, According to the one reference book I own that shows this cap, only the highest ranks wore this cap with gold woven insignia and chin cord. As we can see from this example, the cap copuld also be had with gold metal insignia. I was delighted to add this rare cap to my political cap collection.Click image for larger version.

    Hi Bob,

Is this the only known example of these rare DAF caps to exist, besides the one that is pictured in the reference book? Have you heard or seen any others in collections?

    regards,
    Corey
