This subject is outside my "comfort zone".
Could someone help me with more info?
Is this original?
What could it be worth?
PS
I did the classic test (burn a thread), and it is cotton and not polyester.
Looking forward for some feedback.

I have found one loose one in my time, as this is it.
I am not optimistic about yours. You would have to compare it in hand to a real one.
The prototype was published by Mollo in the late 1960s and has been used as a template for fakes every since.
If the cotton is heavier than the original, then you have your answer.
Also, these had a serial number put on them via the RZM.
Thank´s for your reply Friedrich-Berthold,
I know for a fact, that this came from a factory in Hamburg, in the 70ies.
This could be a very fine replica...
Do you know if the RZM number stamp was "stamped" on, before the tags went to the manufacture of uniform, caps etc?

Thanks again!
I did get the tag as a present from a friend and old time collector.
For me this is more of an opportunity to collect more knowledge regarding this subject.
You are quite right, the devil...
I could be wrong, but there was, or is, a rumor that American collectors created this unissued, never worn, direct from the tailors box, item during the 70ies. Then they sold it to European collectors as; out of the woodwork findings?
There is always too much "out of the woodwork" material for my taste. When it comes to SS things, I prefer old collections that are liquidated.
