I'm apologizing if I picked the wrong subforum - but I'm not really sure where this cap goes. I got it as WW2 Slovenian (Yugoslav) partisan cap (hence remains of red star), but I think it might be a captured German or another Axis one (Italy?). It's dark blue which faded to almost black on places, so it's not Heer. It can be some civilian organisation (DAF used blue...) No markings, but there appears to be a label sticked in the inside.

The last pics shows the cap from rear - this "inset" should be caracteristic?!

It's also possible it's partisan made, in this case I'm asking your help about the cloth - does anyone recognize the cloth?

Thank you in advance for any help!

hello valter, i doubt it' s a partisan titovka, i would say it might be an early sample of ratna mornarica sidecap , jna yugoslav navy cap.

Ade, Matt, thank you for your help! I'll check if yugoslav navy used this type of sidecaps.

Quick update: Matt, I don't believe this is JNA navy titovka - I checked several resources and since regulation of 1946 Yugoslav navy didn't use titovka's at all - only navy tally caps, even for working uniform. If it is indeed Yugoslav, it could be very early - before 1946. Although in early years Yugoslav army used very different kinds of weapons and equipment (like helmets, belts, shoes...) caps were "unified" very quickly.

    Anybody else has an opinion?

    Hello Valter
I still doubt it's a IX Korpus titovka. I've been looking for a genuine one since a while but they are quite elusive. Usually they are brownish colour (believe yugoslav army cloth) or made with british gabardine cloth. Never seen them in blue/black. Regards

Hello Miles82, I actually like it! It has good chances! I am quite sure I've seen the same type of badge before (ground dug) in Slovenia
    Regards

    Hello Miles,
the badge is yugoslav partisan WW2, and the cap could be too, but I'd like to see the interior. It could be post-war JNA cap with partisan time badge.
