WH-Gebirgsjäger Officer's Schirmmütze

Article about: Just picked this up from one of my favorite dealers, John Telesmanich. This is a Wehrmacht true Officer's GJ visor made by a very rare maker, Josef Worda of Innsbruck. Worda was a Hofliefera

    Great visor Chris.
I emailed john to put that visor on hold but you bet me to it lol.
I ended up buying the artillery visor with the edelweiss on it which was above this visor.
John is a top guy to deal with and has fair prices.

A friend of mine (who is infinitely more versed in WH history than I) advised me that in all liklihood, my hat would have belonged to an officer of the 2. Gebirgs-Division, which was originally based out of Innsbruck. (too bad no name in the hat).

    This is the Divisional insignia:

Pete, agree on John. That artillery was a nice one, too!

Here is the only other Worda I am aware of--a Pioneer GJ visor owned by Giorgio. There is no disputing that this is a true GJ Pioneer (black-piped), and not some collector add-on after the war:

That's a another nice visor Stoney , also interesting where the maker/manufacturer is located
at best I would guess "WORDA" most likely made visor's for Gebirgsjager unit's/regiments based within those area's.

Saw this on RoR--Worda tailored Seyss-Inquart's uniform:

"Rare of the Rare! The insignia for the White summer tunic as worn by Dr. Seyss Inquart! Seyss Inquart served as Chancellor of Austria for two days – 11–13 March 1938 – before the Anschluss that merged Austria with Nazi Germany. During World War II, he served the Third Reich in the General Government of occupied Poland and as Reichskommissar in the Netherlands. At the Nuremberg Trials, he was found guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death. This is the sleeve patch, and the Tailors tag from the neck of his tunic as well as the name tag all removed from the uniform after the wars end. The gold weave on the sleeve insignia is of the Highest Quality!"
