Have you looked at making or purchasing some kind of acrylic tiered stands such as this idea:
Because your cabinet isn't full by any means...most of the vertical space is empty.

I have the same issue. I would buy a new cabinet or start putting new items elsewere.

Good advices, I will think in the vertical direction ;-)
I do have another cabinet same as this one, but no room for it :-/
And Nick, she let me display it yes, BUT in my workshop in a quite small space ;-I !!!
She says , war items and especially german, has "bad wibes", and she does not want them where she sleeps !! BS, that's what I say !!
Only good thing about that is, I spend more time there than home ;-D
