Hi everyone, I am putting together a German home front display and thought I would show my progress. I have just received the Volksempfänger radio set, which is in great condition. Any comments welcome. Doug

I like the look of this Doug, well displayed. Forgive my ignorance but is this just a display in your house, or in a museum somewhere?

Very cool with the radio and the nice lamp! It gives just the right feeling, you want to sit down with a cup of coffee and read the paper like it was 1937 or something. I wouldn't mind to have a similar display in the future!

Very nice display. A typical German living room of the 30s / 40s era. Does the Volksempfänger working?

Thanks for your comments, the Volksempfänger is complete but not working as it still has its original plug and cable and I don't want to change it for a modern one.

Almost if you were there right now. Very, very well played.

I remember stories my Oma told me of being in their home during bombings and the radio and smell of war around them. Things like this displayed make me wonder what being a civilian in Europe was like when it let loose. I am grateful for your display.
