Homemade tunic and helmet display/stand.

Here is my small project using old wood pieces and hanger from the garage.
It will be sanded, stained and clear coated.

That should work rather nicely for displaying uniforms for photographs if I could make a suggestion go to the local hardware store and purchase some pipe insulation it is manufactured from closed cell foam and comes in lengths of four feet and is rather cheap you can buy it in multiple sizes and it is already split down the one side for easy application over pipe.
If you put this over the coat hanger it will give the shoulders a more full body and broader appearance and the uniform should hang better.

i already have that in my garage, but was thinking to use cushion foam.

I am positive that cushion foam would work as well if not better as you can pick the thickness to suite your specific needs please keep us informed as to how the project works out for you.
