This is her other WRAC service dress cap.

Again lovely quality. But much more used than the other one. Again King's Crown badged.

Is that due to their being replaced with leather?

    Thanks Eric.

Even though there was a war on, she still had 17 (!) different neck ties. All from the usual top makers.

Hiya Rob, that is what we reckon. The material is the same soft wool. Different to the other caps of hers.

    Cheers, Lez & Ade.

It seems likely, perhaps the WRAC was strictly leather strap only, and she had them all replaced when she was 'rebadged'?

I think the name for that type of soft wool is 'doeskin' is it not?

Hiya, We have tried to see if the caps once had ATS badges fitted. The "Lillywhites" one has certainly always been WRAC as the lining cannot be pulled down being sewn in place and the cap badge has the split pin type fastener. So an update would not have been possible. The other could have been on update. Not sure of the regs for this date to be honest?

    Doeskin

    Cheers, Lez.
