It is amazing that today most people know that there is a monetary value
to these items, but where the few who don't know - or don't care,
toss them to the curb.
One of the best helmets on the PLANET in my opinion, was found sitting on top of a garbage can on garbage day in I think Chicago....it now resides in Norway after being in the Bill Shea collection for 20 or so years.

Your helmet collection is one of the best in the world, IMO! Plus, I love and respect the Canadians who gave all!

As am I... :-)
PS< the last post I made with the items from John Delves was in response/agreement to the insight provided by AIF, these medals are far from mint but I love them nonetheless given their Canadian heritage and the fact they were given to me to honor his memory. I had dead mint medals in each of these, many cased and I sold each one as these mean so much more to me even though many of them the condition is not mint.
In fact one of the wound badges still has the German soldiers badge loupes on it, as was told to me by Canadian vets they would simply rip the badges off the tunics of the Germans when they surrendered. This wound badge is clear evidence of this.

I even gave them more then they asked, because I can't rip someone off.
What goes around comes around, I firmly believe in karma. Way to go GP. Thumbs UP!

Thank you kindly for the compliment. I do love it so. And among my favorite helmets are the few SS helmets that were brought back by Canadian veterans.

Re: Lets see your mintiest items!!
A friend told me his father processed German prisoners in WWII,
and would tear medals etc from their chests. He said his dad
had a cigar box full of EKII's that he used for key chain
fobs. When one wore out or got bent, he tossed it
away and put on another one.........!

I'm sorry to repeat myself, but.. It's INSANE!!! Besides your helmet collection, I can't imagine what you have. I collect Revolutionary War up to WW2, so I'm spread out. But you really nailed your passion!

You know that is exactly right, and really there is nothing to be jealous of, I think a collection whether it be a couple EK2s or Purple Hearts or the massive collection of CEF I have the privilege of seeing today in person, its all great stuff to behold and wonder over. For now I got to hit the sack its getting late here!
Cheers guys a pleasure to chat.
