We all seemed to enjoy the "Let's your mintiest items" thread so I thought this
might be interesting. So show us your rare treasures. Military related would be
great but not required. It could be the bronze age axe found on the farm or maybe
the Rembrandt hanging in the basement.

I don't have much to offer but to start this off I show this.

A rough looking 1914 Eisernes Kreuz 1st. class. Made by A.Werner and Sohns.
The backside is pillowbacked, with a cruciform backplate and two screw posts.
In ten years of posting on 4 different forums, we have only seen two others posted
and and one in a book.

It may not be pretty or even valuable but it is most certainly rare.

Here is a very unusual HJ buckle. It's a conversion buckle and the construction is very different - see back of buckle. The maker RZM 40 = M1/40 C. Meinel & W. Scholer (Klingenthal), not a known buckle maker. A DJ like this one is known, and other collectors have seen one or two HJ like it. Got this one from an Austrian dealer's site and had to pinch myself when I saw it for sale.

Look forward to seeing others rare items.

Great Thread Greg! Can't wait to see some of the rarer items the WRF Community Members have in their collections. I would have to say my top 3 are listed & pictured below:

    1ST - Bahnschutz - 2nd Model Railway Dagger by E&F Horster
    2ND - 1935 Early SS Allgemeine Canteen RZM 46/35
    3RD - 1939 G.29O - Luftwaffe Steyr Mauser. Only 50,000 rifles made in 1938 & 1939

Not an egg cup. Too big. Too small for beer, too big for schnapps, whiskey, etc. Maybe the right size for wine.

Here is the old original thread.

There are a few items that initially come to mind. Off the top of my head - a WWI Austrian camo Helmet w/provenance and an ersatz liner, a WWII tabbed Heer belt buckle marked and re-used by the French resistance...., and this item - not my all around favorite item, but I've never seen another of these so complete except for in a printed 1937 German catalog. Although the rubber shows its age, the leather scabbard still has the original RZM tag and manufactures stamps, while the rubber shows its embossed mold numbers. As rubber was diverted to the war effort, these became non existent.
