Luftwaffe Purse,
Hi,
Im not sure if i have shown this before, but i have just looked at Ostlanddigger,s item and seen a German purse that reminded me of this. It was given to me by an old veteran now past over, he took it from a young german prisoner that they captured.
The medals in it are ww1, like most items in there. so i think it was
his dads, The cap badge was his own, he was part of a sherman tank crew.
Dave.

Re: Luftwaffe Purse,
it is quite possible. I've seen many purses like that - RAD ,SS, WH, POLIZEI, PZ, LUFTWAFFE (mostly from graves). Once we found purse wich had rank patch on-exactly that same rank what had soldier at that time. Due of my experience-purses decorated like that was some kind of fashion. So anything is possible.

Re: Luftwaffe Purse,
Hi Dave, superb little group.
I have seen similar purses decorated like this too and I would agree with my friend from Latvia, they seem to be a popular fashion item of the time.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Luftwaffe Purse,
Hi Ade,
Yes it is a great little item all the medals ect are ww1, just some of the coins are from ww2, but it is like a treasure to me now as the man who gave me it has past away. the brit cap badge was his,
he said the German was very young and glad to be captured.
I dont blame him.
Dave.
