    Hello folks.

Nothing massive or exciting, but thought others would enjoy it. I've recently been playing around with some of my deeper Riker cases, and have discovered that removing some of the inserts allows them to serve as handy inexpensive shadow boxes. It does mean laying them flat, but I'm more than happy with the results.

Here's a display I knocked together for my Mother's Crosses, along with a short paragraph for context. I do enjoy putting these together. Really gives the displays that museum feel. Pardon the reflections!

They are beautiful little medals, and still very affordable. I've always considered this strange, given the prestige with which they were treated at the time.

I always thought the design was somewhat wasted. Would have looked nice on a dress wartime tunic in a pin back form if it were meant for something else IMO. But the Mothers deserved something beautiful, so who am I to judge ?

    A very nice display BB!
    One of my favorite awards.
Unfortunately, most of the mothers that earned these awards didn't look like that frauline that you have added.
Here is my only photo of a woman that earned hers, unfortunately, I seemed to have not rescanned it.

Very nice BB. Well done. I have a handful of these. But still no Silver for some odd reason. Just never seem to run across them.

David: I might have two MC's in gold with the case. Not sure...Will need to look. If so, I can send it to you.

    Thank you all!

I tend to get a bit obsessive when it comes to displaying things, to the point of arranging the things stacked on top of the wardrobe so that it looks less like a pile of random junk. I've always thought displays like this are important, as it gives the items therein some context, as opposed to just having a cabinet filled with random militaria.
