Article about: Nice collection, after only one year. Better & bigger then my German collection and i been collecting for couple years now (German). must be big expense in one year. to grow a collection

    The 'come-along' handcuff (for leading a prisoner along with only one of his wrist in the 'cuff' and the ability to twist to encourage the arrested person to comply), which was shown in the beginning of this thread - do you know the origin of that?
    Not where you got it from, but whether or not it was specific to the German occupation forces or just a generic police item.
    I have encountered it in other countries, but as these also used to be occupied countries during WWII, I really cant say, where the hand 'cuff' originated.

    They are American from the 1800s. When they introduced
    Key lock in the U.S.A. they sold all "come-along" handcuff to Germany,
    where they were used by the police, and later the SD and Gestapo.
    So they are produced in the USA in the 1800s!

    Dang! I was offered one many years ago in very good condition and costing only peanuts, but I declined as cuffs didnt have my interest.
    I fail to remember if there were any stamps.
