Oh ok Pat, here is a quick pic, i hope you like it
Thanks, Glen.
Hello Glen,
If the insignia on that cap says "1786" then that is a postwar version.

I may be wrong,
Patrick
Hey Patrick, i think you may be correct, mine is a pre-war one and is made by ges gesch. I brought mine as part of a grouping which included, a ww1 Hindenburg cross w/document, pass and the visor cap all belonging to a ww1 vet, here check the thread i made:

Thanks, Glen.
Hi Patrick, you got good advice in that thread and you are correct.
Hi Glen, your collection is coming on great. My advice is now to dump any repro items you have. They just detract from the nice original items you have.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Glen,
"Ges. Gesch." is just short for gesetzlich geschützt which means "legally protected" - a trademark basically. Not a maker.

Hey Ade, Thanks very much... i am beginning to move any repro items i have when i need the space and they are in my ammo case at the moment, out of the way
Thanks, Glen.
Sorry about your cap,
Though if it was apart of that grouping its still an interesting piece.
I agree with ade, no point in keeping repros,
best regards,
Patrick
Oh why are you sorry about my visor cap? You mean the condition?
Thanks, Glen.
