    Not 100% sure on that one mate... The ribband does look a little wierd in the pic but but not in hand. Its the same as the one that came with my unissed KVK in the packet. You will just have to wait and see wont you?

    ok mate it doesnt matter either way as i have now just brought replacement ribbons for my war merit civilian medal and kvk2 without swords =D

    Went round the carboots today and picked up so new bits.
    1966 Ammo Case 3
    two Gasmarks, one 1929 and the other 1939 with one canister - 6 for the two
    Do any of you guys know if the gasmasks are military issue or just industry ones?

    Both respirators are WW2 British civillian issue. Given out to every household in the country starting before the outbreak of war. You are mistaken on the "date", not 1929. It is a lot number. The tin is a private purchase item as these came in a cardboard box.

    NEVER try these on as they contain asbestos.

    Oh thanks for the information, so the lot number what does that indicate, a region? There was a third one which has the lid to the tin and also a string hanger but my brother has that one. No i wouldn't dream of trying these on, never know what kind of 70 old year bug is sitting in them =D
