    Nah he is in his 30s, but he doesn't take it as seriously as i do, kinda wish i could keep these medals, i think its extra rare to have them in this un-touched state, although when he goes off militaria i will have them back =P

    can you post a picture of the other side of the marksman award (lanyard) these were used by the bw and nva as well as tr so its original to one of those

    Hi Glen, Tom is correct, it is Bundeswehr era Schützenschnur.

    Third Reich era examples usually have the keepers, located top and bottom, made in twisted fashion and are usually fitted with a protective fabric backing to the reverse of the lanyard to prevent it scuffing the uniform material.

    Hi Tom, nothing to do with the "tassels" which are actually acorns and these form part of the ranking system.
