Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Hi Paul, any luck with finding that catalogue?
It has a beauty Glenn, they all do!

Good Sir, you are too kind!
yes it is very good.i like it
lovely stuff especially the helmet,
On the basis of some upcoming interviews I again jumped the gun and lashed out on another SS relic from my good Karelian digger friend.
This time what I think is sometimes called the '2nd type' ring. Although not an SS ring per se and most likely a canteen purchase it is a nice addition to my SS collection. Given that the ring is made of silver I wonder if such 'higher end' items were even available as a canteen purchase? If so then I suspect the higher purchase cost might indicate the original owner being an NCO or officer perhaps but of course that is only speculation.
Now is it just my eyes or are there some very worn letters across the skull forehead? Sure looks to me like a definate 'A' in the center.
On the inside are what may be makers marks. Looks like a '23'?
Silver content mark '830'.
Not only your eyes Glenn, I see the A too ... and a 'D' or 'E'
and on the inside a ES I believe?

Hi Dan, thanks for the input. I guess it could be an ES but whichever way you look at it the 'S' is back to front.
As for the other letters on the forehead, I think the last one could be a D...if I stare at it long enough!
