I have yes. I ordered well over a month ago but I suppose it takes some time.
Yes they take their sweet time
OK. Well, I'm guessing you need a piece by piece identification so lets get started:
1. Canadian Engineers Cap Badge
2. Canadian General Service Button - shoulder strap/pocket size
3. Canadian General Service Button - front of jacket size
4. Collar Badge 92nd Bn, Canadian Infantry
5. Canadian Engineers Collar Badge (also had other uses, but in this context that's what it is)
6. Black Watch (British) Cap Badge
7. I first thought a 92nd collar badge, but will have to check up on this...
8. General Service (British) Cap Badge
9. Canadian Shoulder Strap Title (worn on base of each strap)
10. No 2 Identity Disc (usually worn with red No 1 disc on cord around neck)
I think the lump between 6 and 10 is a piece of wax from a sewing kit.
Rob
I appreciate you taking the time Rob. the object between 6 and 10 is metal. There are several pieces like this in the box that I could only assume would be shrapnel.
It says Mcgill University.
15. Canadian Army Gymnastics Staff Cap Badge (I think... hard to see)
16. Shoulder Strap Number, 92nd Bn, Canadian Infantry
17. Cap Badge 92nd Bn, Canadian Infantry
18. Metal version of No 1 ID Disc
19. British General Service Button - shoulder strap/pocket size
20. British General Service Button - front of jacket size
21. Royal Garrison Artillery (British) Shoulder Title
22. Divisional Arm Patch (1st Div Engineers)
23. 3 years Service Stripes (worn point up on right lower sleeve)
24. Lance-Corporal (or 2nd Corporal in the engineers) rank stripe
25. British War Medal 1914-1920
26. Looks like .303 Lee-Enfield rounds in a charger
27. British Victory Medal
28. Canadian Field Artillery Shoulder Title
That's got most of the commonwealth badges I think .. who's going to do the German stuff?
Rob
To be honest I don't really know. His victory Medal says that he was a Private and he enlisted as a Private so I don't believe he was one of the staff in the corps. And no he did not attend Mcgill.
