Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

This is the first type of the Knight's Cross issued, very likely in 1939.
It is unknown who the marker of these very early awards was. It has a three
quarter loop, and interestingly is marked 800 on the frame. In the book
"the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross" written by MAERZ, he outlines this
first issue to be unmarked however, this particular cross, evaluted by
several experts, stands as the first known example of a marked first issue
Knight's Cross. Importantly it is clear that the Cross was marked before
hand and it stands as a rare and possibly unique example of the Knight's
    Cross.
