The Exemplary Behavior Medal (Medalha de Comportamento Exemplar) is a Portuguese military medal created on October 2, 1863, by decree of the Secretary of State for the Affairs of War, with three grades (gold, silver and copper), and distinguishes military personnel who serve throughout its career with exemplary moral and disciplinary conduct and proven spirit of loyalty.

Several Portuguese Exemplary Behavior Medals were minted over time. There are several models:
- 1863 Model (until 1911)
- 1911 Model (until 1917)
- 1917 Model (until 1921)
- 1921 Model (until 1946)
- 1946 Model (until 1949)
- 1949 Model (until 1971)
- 1971 Model (until today)
Remark: I dont know the existence of the 1946 model.

With respect to the reverse:
We have a centered the inscription COMPORTAMENTO EXEMPLAR (Exemplary Behavior). Surrounding the text we have a circle of oak leaf sprigs that signifies victory, triumph and success, and the inscription MEDALHA MILITAR (Military Medal).

We have a centered profile of a young Republican woman facing right that signifies the freedom and the pursuit of liberty, and the circular inscription REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA (Portuguese Republic). Below the head of the young republic we have the year of the implantation of the Portuguese Republic, October 5 of 1910. Surrounding the text and the republic head we have a circle of oak leaf sprigs that signifies victory, triumph and success.

This is the simplest drawing of all Portuguese Exemplary Behavior Medals.
With respect to the obverse:
We have in high relief bust of the young Republic that signifies the freedom and the liberty, Surrounding by the inscription REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA (Portuguese Republic). At the top of the young woman cap we have a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. The laurel wreath signifies victory, triumph and success.
With respect to the reverse:
We have at the right the inscription MEDALHA MILITAR COMPORTAMENTO EXEMPLAR (Military Medal Exemplary Behavior) and at the bottom the year of the implantation of the Portuguese Republic, October 5 of 1910. At the left we have the winged angel blowing a trumpet and holding a laurel branch. The angel signifies victory, triumph and success over the enemies.
