A couple of new add ons to my collection that should be here next week in the mail the first is a Canadian para DPM jumpsmock webbing and uniform from the early 80's these were only made for a limited time and as the Canadian Airborne Regiment is now been disbanded they are very desirable to camouflage collectors.
The second one is a East German DDR Strichmuster camouflage uniform complete with webbing and feldmutze will go well with my field pack and DDR helmet I will post better photos once it all arrives in the post .

This is the same type of helmet as I displayed previously in post #237-a Singaporean C1 but this time without the scrim net to show the unusual factory applied cam paint scheme-this particular helmet is scheduled to be shot at to see how bullet resistant it really is...
Hey Dave the Swiss started using this particular splinter/sumpmuster pattern in 1944 and it was designed for use with the M18 helmet it was used through out the 1950's and 1960's and was adapted for use with the M1948 paratrooper helmet as well .An intresting fact is that the sumpmuster pattern is actually sprayed with an airbrush the dark greens and ochre.
It is a very nice helmet cover and I.M.O. the condition is still rather good and they are quite rare and hard to come by.

That's odd - I've seen them at shows here for $5.00 !
I'll have to pick one up for my M18.........!
Regards,
Steve.
Paid $8.00 US for this one.

I stand corrected I thought these helmet covers were a lot harder to come by gents I have only seen a few for sale at the $20-$30 dollar range here in the local surplus stores

My parcel arrived in the post yesterday Canadian DPM jump smock as manufactured by peerless ,The hard part now will be finding the matching DPM halo trousers to go with the smock to complete the set.
