Post your war-time Artwork...!
My Dad was a picture framer and I grew up surrounded by art and I have a great appreciation for it.
And I like war time pieces of Art because its the painters way of viewing war.
Does anyone have any artwork of war scenes 1813-1945?
I thought there lacked a thread for period time artwork
Post 'em please...!
cheers,
Pat

Thats very nice Kenneth....! I think it deserves a place here . any piece from 1813-1945 should be on this thread. Portrait paintings are nice too. even though the ones I see for sale are very crude....!
cheers,

But is it not just a period print of the original painting, Pat? Forgive me if my eyes have deceived me.

No it is "Multi-colored pressure "Prince Anton von Hohenzollern mortally wounded in the battle for Rosberitz 3/7/1866", showing the fight scene, old framed behind glass, size 34 x 24 cm, decorative"
cheers,
Pat
But Pat, a pressing is a print! Don't get me wrong here, this a true artist's print which I would love to have in my collection, but many like it have also been printed, so it is not unique and is probably pressed/printed in a series. It is in no way a painting in the correct sense.
