Some British Army up to date masks GSR and FM12
brilliant additions danny ,how mint are those hoses on your examples ,can i ask what the last picture has interrupting the hose halfway ,im guessing some sort of one way valve ? ,very nice gsr kradman ,now i know these are very dear on the wallet to purchase ,nice to see one in closer detail though ,cheers james
Cheers James! I try to go for the best examples where I can, although I am a sucker for a bargain even if there are better examples out there The one you ask of is an early MkIV Service Respirator fitted with an additional EA filter in the centre of the hose. There is thread detailing this mask specifically here, it is quite a rare beast indeed: BEF (British Expeditionary Force) MkIV Respirator
Thanks
Danny
brilliant danny ive learned something new today ,nice find mate
Some more pieces from my collection, all based of the Service Respirator No.6 design including some rarities.
Unknown experimental mask, which is based on, or led to the Service Respirator No.6.
Service Respirator No.6
Fred Dodd Project experimental Service Respirator No.6, produced to test a new voice diaphragm design and "reflex" face seal
What would have been the Optical Service Respirator No.8, produced in small numbers and trialled but never entered production.
Thanks
Danny
