And today was a super one!!! Ok so this is an addition to my collection from a US 5th Army veteran's family attic. It has never been out of the bag and box the veteran stored it in. I have a copy of the sheet allowing some of it to be mailed back to the states. The family did not want me to retain original with veterans name on it for privacy reasons. I must say when you are friendly to people they begin to tell you things and then eventually to you about the stuff in the attic. I have some interesting reading ahead of me. Enjoy!

BTW: my buddy recognizes the smell of authentic TR textiles.

Very cool pick up, a real time capsule. A shame about the visor but that can be fixed if you so desire. The close combat clasp is also a really good thing to get. Do you know any more details about where he served and with whom other than just the 5th army?
    Regards,

Great find! Can we see some photos of the Italian flag? It looks nice! With all the other good stuff in those boxes, it looks like you might be Needing those 10 Rotties to guard it!

Glad you asked Maximus, the flag is Italian pattern one. I have not measured yet at least 4 x8 in size.

It is also called kingdom of Savoia flag.
