I don't really collect cloth insignia, but felt that some framed cuff titles would make for a nice wall decoration. Thus, over the last few months, I went about acquiring some from various sources and mounted them for display.

I have placed them in ordinary picture frames, using a light gray cardboard material cut to size as a matte. The cuff titles are folded over to the rear and held in place by being jammed between the back and the outer frame. I have also taped down their ends so that the frame will not be lifted off the wall.

(Bear in mind that these are all inexpensive post-war cuff titles from the GDR and the FRG, which are solely used for decorative purposes and that I will permanently leave them mounted in the frames. I would not recommend using this method for rare and valuable historical pieces, due to the sharp creases to the material, the sunlight exposure etc.)

I like what you did with the mounting of the cufftitles. It looks great and it makes a nice display piece.

-By the way, I love that Fliegerhorstpolizei cufftitle.-

Very nice! I have a DDR border guard cuff title but it is still attached to the greatcoat.

    Thumbs up

I too like the post war sleve ribbons.
I have several for each of east u. west Germany.
Since I also collect NVA and a bit of FRG they are not left out in the cold by themselves.
I also have a couple of NVA tuniks with the sleve ribbon on them
