I have these guys patrol my place regularly. Notice the amazing one legged dog hopping to the attack.

    Best Regards,

    Andy.

C'mon Guys, this is getting silly!

The best thing to do is, as Greenhorn mentioned, is simply not advertising your collection. My family and my closest friends know what I have (cuz I have had some of my collection delivered to their houses ) but outside of them, no one knows what I have. I do have some items displayed but when lesser friends and friends of friends come over for parties and such, everything I collect goes into hiding. If your house looks like everyone else's than you lower your chances of becoming a prime target. Display cases keep inquisitive hands from touching your items but offer little protection from the determined burglar.

I agree with the above my collection is kept in my den and the only ones that know that I collect are close family and friends if we are entertaining company the room is kept under lock and key.
While we are away or at work though the room is left unlocked so the security patrol can do a pass through every once and a while .
