    That is a good looking boat there, very salty, well done.

    Looks great ! Kretschmer was another U Boat Commander who lived long after the war !

    Hi,
    thanks for the comments and yes it is a V1, very small though, i have a large model of a V1 that i did a while back and made a launch ramp for it, I did ask for some idea,s and Ade Stevenson said build a ramp so thats where the idea came from. i will put it up if anyone want s to see it.
    Also the piece of wood that the boat is sitting on came from a ship wreck four miles from where i live, so i used it for the model.

    Sorry Dave, I only just saw this one. Thank you for posting it, it does look good. What paints did you use? Acrylics or enamels?

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Hi Adrian,
    I used the normal small pots that you get for models something like umbro i think, the rusty bits are just the paint and a touch of white spirit. It thins it out just right.

    Thanks Dave, I think the paints are 'Humbrol'.
    I'm still in the dilemma of should I or shouldn't I drill out the flood holes......
