Adding to my thread pictures of my SS Album, Documents & Papers in my collection.

Gerstacker’s album has 223 photos in a wood covered album made in Krakau in 1940. The complete Gerstacker grouping includes his photo album, Auweis papers, SS Pay & travel documents. Have researched Gerstacker further and found 6 other documents from his SS Service as well. August was an SS Unterscharfuehrer who served on the staff in SS-Totenkopf-Artillerie-Regiment. Many fantastic images of him throughout with photos of, early SS men, SS Kaserne Stuttgart and its living quarters, SS men in offices, series of portrait photos of the men in his company, inspections, train convoys, field kitchens, horse drawn columns, SS troops in the field, SS vehicles columns driving through French towns as well as many images of vehicles with the deaths head vehicle marking. Also photos of SS Kradmelders, destroyed bridges, field bivouacs, SS officers in the field, SS halftracks with towed 10,5cm artillery cannons, destroyed French tanks and vehicles, Beutepanzer Prime movers, black colonial French POWs, camo SS artillery position, Artillery night firing, bomb craters, destroyed buildings and towns and troops resting in the field. There are also images of Officers going over battle plans and maps with the unit, filed life, troops setting up artillery cannons removing cradles, burning Totenkopf marked halftrack, SS Funkers, troops grooming in the field, visiting various points of interest in France, RARE image of German propaganda poster telling the French to welcome the German soldier. Gerstacker is seen many times in cars with the skull on the fenders, sleeping in the backseat, in group settings and with a beetle on the side of his head in one infamous picture. The personal documents consist of his SS Ausweis with photo issued to him in May of 1936 as well as a document releasing August to travel and to pay entitled to him dated 1940.

Adding HJ Leader Documents & Papers to my collection thread:

Berthold Brandstatter. This grouping contains two 1942 dated letters, an empty envelope, his DJ Leistungsbuch, his Führerausweis der Hitler-Jugend, his Loyalty to Hitler Pledge document and one other document. Authentic papers for a youth leader with well documented records.

Hitler Youth Marine Album: 90 photos total. Super images of MHJ uniforms in wear, visiting harbor installations and warships, two U-BOAT photos, portrait photos of the him in MHJ uniform, MHJ boys practicing semaphore, ceremonies, marching, unit outings, and more.

Emil Herdle who was a Luftwaffe Stuka pilot who served throughout the entire war and flew until the bitter end. DRL Bronze Sports Badge, Photo Album, Unit Photos, Loose photos, 4 framed award certificates, flugbuch and document binder. This collection was obtained by my family. The Luftwaffe album has over 90 photos. Some loose with many images of seaplanes, great photos of him serving as Bordschuetze on Seaplanes on Warships (!) flying He 60. According to records of the aircraft codes (60-D11 and 60-F11) he was on the ADMIRAL HIPPER and the GRAF SPEE!!! He 60-D11 was also listed as assigned to Kuestenfliegergruppe 106. Good photos of Aircrews with planes, Do-17m’s, Ju-52s, Ju-87s and more. There are documents related to his service in See-Lehrgeschwader 2. Comes with two Bierzeitungen fom his time serving in a Kuestenseeflieger unit. Also photos of Hermann Goering visiting the base, various ports of call photos of the man ship board with his plane and it being lowered into the water for take-off photos of him with his awards in wear, as well as in flight gear, Stukas lined up for take-off, sunken ships, Zeppelin crews, knocked out French tank, troops marching , flight debriefings, and knocked out artillery. His documents consist of a Flugbuch with entries from 3.41 – 9.44 that is well filled out showing him in Do-17s, Ju-87s, Me-110s, document issued by 9. Staffel Stuka-Geschwader 1 showing his combat missions in France in May and June of 1940, as well as other flight related documents. There is also a binder with document pertaining operation of the Ju-87, booklets from his time flying at sea in Standortesegelfliegergruppe as well as other wartime documents. There are also a group of Feldpost letters, his Strandkarte with photo of him in his Luftwaffe uniform dated 1937,in a leather Flieger Ausweis wallet, 2 large size group photos of his training and time with Standortesegelfliegergruppe. His award documents are as follows, DRL Sportsabzeichen, Iron Cross 2nd class dated 1940, Frontflug Spange fur Kampfflieger in Bronze dated 1941 and his award document for the Iron Cross 1st class dated 1941 there also is an award certificate for a shooting competition dated 1938.

This is a Large Luftwaffe fighter Pilot Album from Hans Mirsberger. Comes with his Pilots Badge award document awarded Sept 3, 1943, his DLV Flugbuch filled with entries, photo album contains 180 photos and is very well and artistically captioned throughout. Contains MANY excellent AIRCRAFT images - Me 109, Ju 87, Fe 189, many training aircraft, glider aircraft, many images of pilots in flight gear, he also included his THREE Luftwaffe Glider qualification badges in the album! Good images of planes in flight, Staffel emblems on nose cowlings, crashes, the man visiting PARIS, nice hand drawn maps, and more. He was an artist so he color enhanced his photos in some cases with colored pencil and also has some pencil sketches of various women and character color sketches around photos. Very interesting tribute to his service in the war. We also have a pair of goggles that were his along with a DLV stick pin.

Wilhelm Kneidl was born in Grafenwohr, Germany on March 1st, 1917. Grafenwohr is west of the Czech Republic and North West of Austria. Grafenwohr is in Eastern Bavaria. The collection includes: Photo Album, Soldbuch, Arbeitsbuch, replacement 1949 abstract paper showing his service from missing pages of Soldbuch, Sudetenland Medal Award Certificate, medical info and also his POW release discharge. Kneidl served in Hitler Youth, RAD and also the Luftwaffe. He was a single man when released from being a POW in 1945 and did have a child. Fantastic grouping with an album with 162 photos and documents to an Unteroffizier who started out in various Fliegertruppe as a mechanic and at war’s end with Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 7 in the battle of Arnhem, with group unit photos, portrait photos and time in southern France. Also photos of northern France, photos of destruction in Kharkov, tropical uniforms in wear, time in Italy, Bulgarian pilots, and formal funerals, aerial views on Munich, trips to the Alps as well as Italian Pilots and aircraft. There are also nice large format photos of Molders visiting with other Knights cross holders as well as a photo of Himmler and Udet visiting officers, Luftwaffe bands drum corps, Fahnen ceremonies, High ranking officers with foreign aviation badges in wear, aircraft in flight, pass and reviews and time in the RAD. Towards the end of the war he was with the Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 7 from Nov. 1944 – Mar. 1945 when he was injured by shrapnel from a British Tank in the area of Arnhem. He was captured by American Troops and held in hospital due to injury to his abdominal area. He was released in August of 1945 after the war by Marvin Mc Kissick 1st Lt in the eagle disbandment reception center. You can see the stamp and signature of release officer giving Kneidl his discharge as a POW and the right thumbprint of Wilhelm Kneidl on the discharge Certificate. He was also awarded the shooting cord, Memel medal and long service award.

Here is a nice Luftwaffe grouping showing Ewald Benard's Dog Tag, his gunner card, Oilcloth ID & a piece of cloth from his school. Also threw my 2nd model luft in there.
