I bought some items from a Vet's estate yesterday. This sword was included.

On one side, crossed swords. On the other side, nothing. VERY nice Eickorn maker mark but my camera did not get a good pic of it.

The only swastika is on the handle. There is some damage to it, like it got dropped?

Can I get some help identifying this sword? Army? What branch? Is there a particular "style" name for this sword?

Hi Martin! Our forum swordsmen will be along shortly to answer in detail any questions you may have. Could you take a photo of the blade both sides and maker mark included,,,both sides of the crossguard.,,, for now just to get things rolling. Nice sword. estate sales are the best Regards Larry

I learned a long time ago that you cannot be an expert in everything. My "area" has always been German Police and Croatian items. But we have this forum so that we can share our expertise with each other and that is our strength!

I thank all of you for the help.

One last question: In terms of rarity, this is not your average sword is it? I did some looking online and could not find a similiar one. I am trying to get an idea of value. I hesitate to put forum members on the spot for value, but I am having a tought time finding a dealer with one for sale.

Hi, I'm a bit confused, in my reference book the Eickhorn series of dress swords runs from 1714 and 1716, but there is no 1715, is this because these swords are the Field Marshall series, ie "Wrangel 1693, Scharnhorst 1706, Blucher 1710, Frieherr Von Stein 1714, Roon 1716, Zieten 1734, Derflinger 1735,Prinz Eugen 1765, Lutzow 1767
