Collecting overlap
So, like you guys I like collecting military antiques. I'm also a gun guy, so of course there is a lot of over lap in those hobbies. Gun forums generally have sub forums just for milsurp weapons.
Anyways, I am of course a collector of bayonets and daggers. Not only that, I'm also into straight razors. I always think it's cool to see familiar names in the razor hobby. I've seen lots of Klaas, Boker and Henkel razors from both pre and post TR period.
I shave with a Henkel razor from the early 50's. It occurred to me that the very same person who made it may have also spent time making SS, SA and Army daggers under the TR.
The surprising thing to me is that I've never seen or herd of a specific TR straight or safety razor. It'd be something I'd love to have in my collection.
I've seen everything from TR tea services, candle holders, pocket watches, ash trays and lobster forks but never shaving kit. The Nazi's seemed to love stamping the swas on everything under the sun. I'm just surprised I've never run into a TR branded razor.
Sorry for the kind of off topic post, it's just something I was thinking about and thought you experts might have an opinion.

There are many German Edged weapon producers that produced straight razors and they are out there.

The Nazi's seemed to love stamping the swas on everything under the sun.
And so do the fakers. Big time. However, often they overdo it. Especially preparing items for the gullible Ebay crowd that loves items literally festooned with all sorts of swastikas, SS-runes, and fancy looking stamps.

As Larry noted, many if not most of the Solingen blade manufacturers also had a division making shaving razors. After both World Wars, it was their "bread & butter" business and export revenue earner.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll keep my eyes peeled for good ones. I've found lots of bad fakes thats for sure. I'm glad real ones are out there.
