Dagger Cleaning w/ frosted etch
I have a vet friend that has a Forestry Dagger that he brought back from the War. It has not been stored very well and it looks to me to need at least some type of a wipe down. I know better than to use polish but I am not well versed on daggers in general. I would like opinions and advice on what I should do to clean this dagger. Thank you all in advance.
Regards
Jeff

Re: Dagger Cleaning w/ frosted etch
On the blade you can use simichrome polish wont scratch blade its allmost like tooth polish Im told not to use any oil as it will darken the finish.Just buff off and store in room temp some say out of sheeth long as its out of the normal weather it will be ok......................ERIC

Hi, Killroy.
Could you post a few photos of it ?
It may not be that bad and as you say, may only need a wipe down.
Using polish is ok, but stay out of the etched areas.............!
If it is tarnished with fingerprints or rust, not a whole lot you can
do with out removing metal.
I have use a product called 'Sheath' which I coat all my blades with
after light cleaning. It does not leave residue, but a super fine
rust preventative that cannot be seen..............

Re: Dagger Cleaning w/ frosted etch
As soon as I go visit him again I will. I only see him once in a while but I have a k98 that I may be purchasing this week and I have a M1 that my dad purchased that I wanted to show him as well. If the k98 comes in this week I will see him and get the pics of it.
