Dagger, need help figuring out what I have.

Article about: A while back I posted my Yosegaki Hinomaru and had some awesome information provided to me by some members here. Hoping maybe some people can help me out in the same way with this dagger as

    Another observation is the location of the carrying ring. This leaves the impression of this cut down sword to be unbalanced due to the weight and size of the grip. Surely it would not hang properly..when suspended from belt clip type device. But for decor..it is appealing. Regards Larry

    Yeah, if trying to suspend it by the ring it just just turns upside down. So very unbalanced.

    Very nice item!
    Many allied soldiers modified pieces that were aquired. During their "down time" they had to find ways to entertain themselves. Considering what it is, it could very likely have been tucked into the belt. There are many examples of swords that have been shortened and daggers where only the blade has been utilized and have had new handles and guards fashioned from whatever was available.
