Hi Rob ..interesting waffenamt mark ... Which in slang is called a stick bird with a number in it. I don't study these types hardly at all and with waffenamt marked Luftwaffe blades a number 5 will be found inside the stick bird . Interesting to see a # 6 .... Wait for other opinions and I will keep your thread at the top until you get an answer. I'm curious myself Regards Larry

Hi Larry,
There are blades marked with a #5, #6, W, and S. If I am not mistaken, there may be another one or two.
The only one of the ones that I listed that I do not have is the W marked one.

the pins have stained the wood grip panels.

It is a nice one and it does look like it needs to be stored in a Dry(Yuma, Arizona)/Low humidity environment.(Desert)
Just saying, if you really want to save that piece of history. I could help!!!!!!!
