german fighting knife

Hi guys,

can anyone give me some more information about this fighting knife?
The blade is stamped by gottlieb hammersfahr, i have seen some of these knives before but i have never seen the small grooves on the side of the grip.

Your knife looks very similar to the one I have. The stamps look the same also.
Unfortunately I was told that mine is a reproduction but perhaps someone could confirm this?
I hope I'm wrong.

I´m sorry, IMO your knife is also a repro ...

Sometimes You can identify reprodoctions very easilly.
Maker and acceptance-stamp are marked on the wrong side of the blade both !
Also the scabbard and the leather-hanger are showing differences to the original !

Thanks for the confirmation. Before I discovered this excellent site and BOCN I spent rather a lot of scarce money on items from a well known source believing them to be original and an investment for the future. I am now being re-educated my the many friendly and knowledgeable people who have given me good advice.
