Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum and I thought I would introduce myself.

I’ve largely been interested in firearms however it’s only been recently that I’ve gotten into bayonets and daggers. I know third Reich items in particular are rife with fakes and unscrupulous sellers, so thus far I’ve only been acquiring items from well-regarded dealers who all offer a returns policy. It’s an amazing how addicting this hobby can be and I hope my modest (but growing) collection might be of interest to you all. feel free to tell me what you think.

you are right Mac 66 is scabbard is blued, And compared to a lot the of the painted ones I’ve seen It is in surprisingly good condition. My understanding is that some of the earlier ones were blued instead of painted?

Yes your correct, some early & Transitional period hj knifes had blued scabbards, there pretty hard to come by as most were painted enamel black , also you see scabbards that were blued origionally over painted black as the blueing wore away due to heavy use.
