Question on RAD Hewer

I have this nice RC Hewer and it needs a friend. I was in Ciney last weekend and came across a RAD with the right apperance. BUT 3 things scared me off, seller seemed worse than a rotten used car dealer, the RAD had crossgrains like the ones seen on ex SA daggers and it was magnetic in the top of the scabbard.
So my question is:
Did the make them with similar crossgraining like ex the SA daggers ?
Can they somehow be magnetic in the scabbard ?
NB. I ran away from there, the motto etching also looked too sharp for me.

I am not sure what you mean by magnetic in the scabbard, they were made of metal that a magnet will stick easily to. If you mean that the scabbard has a magnet then no. Etches can be deep or shallow depending on the maker. As for crossgrain, yes they could have it but it is fairly rare, and you can find one here Need help! RAD Hewer for review with a nice cross grain. RADs are faked but without pictures there isn't much we can help with.

Difficult to explain, my english is not the best
If you stick the blade tip just 1 or 2 cm into the scabbard, it sticked to either one of the sides of the scabbard like a magnet. I felt that the inside-top of scabbard was noticeably magnetic when touching the blade tip.
Motto: normally when i look very near on to ex a SA motto, the writing looks a bit blurry (unperfect due to the etcing) On this one “Arbeit adelt” was a 100% sharp with perfect lines.
Unfortunately i got no pictures of it.
