Teno Dagger - real or fake?

Article about: A piece that sells way below the relative value often does so for a reason. Someone got stung out of a lot of money, but I guess they say education is expensive.

Default Teno Dagger - real or fake?

    Hi,

I know nothing about Teno daggers, so I would like some opinions.

Does this look real to you?
To me, it looks like a post war dagger, but then again, I know nothing about Teno.

Hi Harry, Its a complete waste of time that's what it is.

Always look for a matching number on these, one under the crossguard and one on the scabbard throat.

Obviously messed with...shined up and not cleaned...worn down..which devalues the dagger and overall authenticity. Interesting extra crossguard.... is this interchangable?. I would like to see the front of the dagger and the present crossguard on it! Regards Larry

Wow...what a mess. Not worth even considering.

Poor quality pictures but I can see enough to tell the hangers are modern Eban-type trash. Can't see enough of the details on the dagger itself to tell but I'm skeptical enough to say its either a parts piece (some period/some reproduction) or just an out & out modern superfake. What's the deal with the extra crossguard? The detail on the extra looks soft enough that its probably modern & not such a good copy at that.

Would be nice to see the obverse of the crossguard on the dagger as well as the numbers (if there are any) & maker mark/ TeNo mark on the blade.

Whoever bought it for this absurd amount is welcome to it...

Still like £700. One thing I can tell you all is there are always at least two people in the auction room that knows the true value of these items (sometimes when I can be bothered the first ones me). If it was any good, it wouldn't have sold at that price!
