    Thank you, I was thinking that it might be fire dept or something like that, however I really do not know or collect German WW2 aside from safe ordnance.

    Thanks again Ade!!! The bit in the end is a "pink" colour, so I was thinking it might be fire as I mentioned.

    Looks like a very nice example of a Feuerwehr bayonet knot, the tarnish just adds some character to it. I suspect it's for a bayonet because from the pics, the bulb looks like the small size. The säbel knot would have a larger bulb.
