at least your starting young, I got married, raised kids, spent 12 years in the military, so I started late. wish I would have gotten some of the old stuff that was laying around when I was in the military. a lot of old ww2, Korean war stuff was still just laying around in a lot of places I was, but I just used to walk on by it, good luck with your collecting.

This could be a French bayonet for the MAS 36 rifle.

BTW, lenght of the french M 36 bayo: 43cm, (16,93 inches).
There also was a "short" M 36 bayonet, the M 36/39, with 15,12 inches.
This 36/39-bayo was used with the MAS 36 CR39-rifle, ("paratrooper´s"-rifle).

imo not for an fg42 as its too long and the bayonet had to fit under the weapon reversed when stored heres a few fg42 pics if they help!
