2nd Pattern Polizei Cap Badge
I picked up a few bits and bobs the other day I think were US vet bringbacks. I have never owned a Polizei cap badge before, Polizei isn't high in my list of interests, but was surprised at the durability and slight heft to these compared to Heer cap insignias. Just wanted to run it by you guys for vetting, it's unmarked and seems okay based off the other ones I've looked at online.
It's fine, a nice clean aluminum cap badge. Now you need a 1st pattern version, they are more crisp and detailed and the eagle faces in the other direction. There is one for sale on Griffin militaria website for not too much. They'll display nicely side by side.

Here are some to compare;
There seems to have been a large numer of variations/makers so you could go a bit mad with these!
Note the difference in material and finish of the 2nd patt Officers and EM versions. The officers version is stamped brass and is frosted and burnished whilst the EM version is flat aluminium.

I didn't realize the officer/enlisted versions were made out of different materials...especially since the finishes and details are pretty-much intended to be the same on these metal ones, though the details of the officer ones appear to be slightly crisper
