    Hello,

Presented here is the uniform of a senior nco "Meister" of the Feuerschutzpolizei circa 1943. The FSP were not firemen but rather armed firefighters with full police powers. They wore police green uniforms with pink-carmine piping and insignia. Pre 1941 the cuffs, collar and cap band were black, later brown. This example although dated 1943 has black trim, and the cap dark brown.

Black leather gear was worn, and the belt was worn with a blackened fire department belt buckle. As a "Meister" officer's cap cords and cap insignia were authorized, so the visor cap is correct for this tunic.

Here is a view of the back. Interestingly this tunic was modified during manufacture by closing the back flaps and not applying piping as would be expected. As the interior lining is contiguous this was clearly done during the making of this tunic and was not a later modification.

This tunic has an interesting unit acceptance stamp identifying it as belonging to a member of the "Feuer Wache" sub-division of the Berlin FSP.

A close up of the post 1941 sleeve eagle with district name removed as per regulations. This particular eagle is interesting in that the swastika is mde in pink carmine thread rather than the "normal" black as used by FSP units. It is made like a Feuerwehr eagle but on green rather than blue.

A better view of the pink-carmine insignia and piping. The boards are the earlier black cord type. Later brown was standardized for all police branches:

And lastly a view of the visor cap with matching pink-carmine piping.

    Thanks for looking.

    Hello again,

So would this visor be the more appropriate cap for this uniform as it has a black (rather than brown) band?

Us and them - and after all we’re only ordinary men. Me, and you - God only knows it’s not what we would choose to do. Forward he cried from the rear, and the front rank died, and the general sat and the lines on the map moved from side to side.

    Yes--
Yours has the black band, so it would match the black cuffs/collar. Also, yours appears to be a senior NCO hat (or officer upgrade). Can you post an interior pic?
    FSP visors are very rare.

would a Senior NCO cap be vented like this one? Any idea what the interior markings stand for?
